Norwegian
Norway is a place where dialects thrive: regional vernacular is used by everyone, and it is this diversity of the Norwegian language that fascinates many people. The Norwegians also have two, official written languages: Bokmål and New Norwegian. What’s most fascinating is that the language is tonal.
It might be said that the Norwegian language sits between Swedish and Danish, and that if one knows Norwegian, not much effort is required to understand the other two. Buy one — get three!

She possesses a primeval force, which manifests when she sings folk songs (which she can do in twenty different languages) or when she bursts into hearty laughter. Marta’s sound is known to fill House of Languages.
Twenty years ago, when she started her studies at the Latvian Academy of Culture, Marta entered the world of the Norwegian language. Therein she dwells to this day, translating children’s books and teaching Norwegian.
When we light up with passion and even forget that we’re learning, we learn best. For this, we have Marta’s charm and colour.
