Our experienced teacher, Alise Birnbauma, will help you start speaking Latvian from day one and feel more at home in the local community.

This course is designed specifically for complete beginners. The focus is on building essential communication skills so that you can initiate simple conversations, navigate everyday situations, and confidently get around town. Yes, Latvian can be challenging – but with us, you won’t be buried in verb conjugation charts. Instead, we make language learning engaging, practical, and fun.

We use what we like to call a multisensory approach: involving movement, interaction, listening, and real-life scenarios to activate language naturally and effectively. You’ll learn the most useful phrases and core structures that give you a strong foundation to build on.

Language holds a special place in Latvian culture. Even a small effort to speak Latvian can completely transform how you are perceived and welcomed. Along the way, you’ll also explore key cultural insights that make communication smoother and help you avoid common misunderstandings.

Beyond language skills, this course offers something just as important: connection. You’ll meet fellow learners and become part of a supportive learning community. By the end of the course, we hope you won’t just speak some Latvian – you’ll feel more at home in Latvia.
