Latvian for Beginners (A1)

Do you want to not only understand Latvian, but also feel confident speaking it?

Latvian can seem complicated. But getting started doesn’t have to be. That’s why in our A1 course, we won’t begin with complicated grammar rules. We’ll start with language you can actually use in everyday life – words, phrases, and conversations. We’ll listen, speak, and practise Latvian in real-life situations, learning the rest along the way.

Latvian for Beginners (A1)

This course is designed for those who are starting to learn Latvian from scratch. During the course, you’ll learn commonly used phrases and essential language structures, practise simple conversations, and gradually feel more confident navigating everyday situations in Latvian.

Course starts: 1 September
16 lessons: Twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Time: 10:00–11:45

The course is taught by our experienced teacher Ilze Andresone who creates a friendly and supportive environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and try again without feeling self-conscious. And you’ll be learning in a rather unique setting – House of Languages is not only a language school, but also a cosy bookshop, a mini museum of languages, and a cultural centre.

The group will be small (5–12 participants), giving everyone the opportunity to take part, practise speaking, and receive individual support.
